I did not expect to eat the best taco I’ve ever had when I sat down at papis taco. The prawn taco is delicious. I also recommend the nachos, they’re a nice blend of savoury and crunchy. Great resto.

Loved the space! It's a tiny hole in the wall but packed a punch. Ordered the platter, suadero, al pastor and birria for a group of 5. Each double parked beer/ margheritas since happy hour was finishing. Food was great, but fish and shrimp tacos really steal the show! The guac which came with the platter was so yummy too. Highly recommend to book in advance. Great crew, great food.

This is my second time here and I will definitely be back again. Short waiting time, fresh ingredients were used and everything we ordered was splendid! Excellent service and if you get the chance, do chat up the staff there as they have so many fascinating stories and the vibe inside is really cozy.

Visited for the first time tonight despite walking past several times, and didn’t regret it. Lovely chicken quesadilla and fish tacos, chefs grilled the proteins just right. Staff were friendly too. Frozen margerita tasted strong. Would revisit to try more items on the menu.

Papi’s Tacos ended up being far more than I expected. I came here for a friend’s birthday, and I’ll admit I was skeptical at first—authentic Mexican food is notoriously difficult to find in this part of the world. My only prior experience was a forgettable attempt in Bali, so the bar was high. But Papi’s quickly proved me wrong. The tacos were punchy, savoury, and deeply satisfying - the kind of food you devour without thinking, which we did. Everything came out fast, fresh, and full of flavour. The restaurant itself is small, tucked away behind Raffles Hotel, giving it the feel of a hidden spot you want to keep to yourself. What elevates the experience is knowing the story behind it. I later read about the chef’s journey - kidnapped, forced to rebuild his life from scratch, and pouring that resilience into this place. Suddenly, the food made sense: it wasn’t just good, it carried the weight of someone’s fight and passion. Papi’s Tacos is more than a meal—it’s a restaurant worth supporting. I’ll be back, and if you’re looking for Mexican food that doesn’t compromise, this is where you go.
